Self-drive Electric Boats
Q: Do you
hire out the boats by the hour or by the day?
A: The boats can be hired out by the hour or day.
Q: Are the boats covered in case it rains?
A: All the boats have canopies and roll down see through side screens.
Q: Is the
boat east to drive?
A: As the boats are electric there are no gears and they are very
easy to drive.
Q: We have
never been through a lock before, is it easy?
A: During the summer there is a lock keeper on duty to help you through
the locks.
Q: How many
people does the boat carry?
A: The electric launches carry 8 people in comfort.
Q: Where
can we board the boats?
A: There are a number of places you can board the boat between Windsor
and Henley.
Q: Do you
supply lifejackets for children?
A: Yes, you only have to tell us the number and age of the children.
Skippered Launches
Q: How many
people do the boats carry?
A: The skippered launches can take up to 12 passengers and 2 crew.
Q: Can we
have food and drink on board?
A: You are welcome to provide your own picnic or we can arrange a
hamper for you.
Q: Does the
boat have a cover?
A: All the boats have a canopy and roll down see-through side screens.
Q: Where
can we park our cars?
A: All the hotels and venues have car parking facilities.
Q: Can the
launches be used for weddings?
A: Bridal Carriages are speciality of Rivertime. The launch is decorated
with white ribbons and garlands for this special occasion.
Q: We want
to arrive at a riverside restaurant by boat can you take us?
A: Yes, we provide river taxis from a number of venues specially for
the purpose.

Corporate Regattas
Q: How do
you run a regatta for a company?
A: We divide the group into 4 teams and they race in skiffs, punts,
pedalos and canoes. We also provide safety and umpire launches, buoyancy
aids and all the necessary skilled boatmen to ensure proper instruction
so that all those taking part enjoy the day.
Q: Where
can you hold these regattas?
A: There are 6 locations at which we regularly run regattas. Oakley
Court Hotel, Queen's Eyot (Elton College's Island), Temple Island
and Fawley Meadow at Henley, Shiplake College, Oxford Thames Four
Pillars Hotel at Sandford and the Swan at Streatley to name but a
few.
Q: How many
people can take part?
A: Generally we regard the minimum number as being 20 for an afternoon
regatta and we can run a regatta for 100 upwards over the course of
the day.
Q: Can you
arrange events on the land as well?
A: We can arrange land events as part of the team building competitive
day.
Q: Are you
covered by insurance?
A: Yes, we have insurance cover to the tune of five million pounds
for our events and boat charter.
Q: How long
do the regattas last?
A: Usually these regattas last for 3-4 hours depending on the numbers
taking part.
Q: What do
you do if it rains?
A: We carry on regardless!
Q: What boats
do you use in the regatta?
A: We race skiffs, punt (dongolas), pedalos, canoes and dinghies.
Q: Do you
have t safety boats and experienced staff?
A: At every regatta there is a safety boat and crew on the river and
skilled boatmen on the landing stage to instruct and assist those
taking part.
Q: Do you
supply lifejackets?
A: Buoyancy aids are provided for all competitors.
Treasure Hunts
Q: How many
people can take part in a nautical treasure hunt?
A: We can run treasure hunts for a minimum of 12 and a maximum of
40/50 people.
Q: How do
you organize a treasure hunt?
A: Those taking part are divided into teams of 5 or 6 and they take
to the river in an electric boat with a skipper to find clues along
the riverbank and complete a general knowledge questionnaire. There
is usually a chance to disembark at a Lock and search for clues.
Q: Do you
supply refreshments and drinks on the boats?
A: Certainly we are very happy to provide refreshments and drinks
in the boats or you are welcome to bring your own.
Q: Do we
have to wear buoyancy lifejackets?
A: No, not on a treasure hunt but if anybody wishes to do so just
let us know in advance.
Q: How long
do these treasure hunts last?
A: A treasure hunt lasts about 2 hours but this can be longer or shorter
depending on the structure of the day.
Q: Can we
stop somewhere for lunch/tea/barbecue?
A: There are some great places to stop for lunch/tea or a barbecue
or it is quite possible to start and one location and finish at another.
Q: What is
the most appropriate dress?
A: Casual dress and sensible shoes are the order of the day.
Q: Do you supply the
treasure?
A: Yes, in abundance.
